2006

2006 – Our inaugural year saw Prêt-A-Pour-Tea host an intimate group of 80 women at Shaugnessy’s Hycroft House.  The Women’s University Club’s beautifully restored mansion was the perfect setting to launch our High Tea and High Fashion Fundraising Event.  Our guests’ enjoyed the fashions from JC Studio, Jolie Chan, and Blushing Designs and the high tea luncheon prepared by The Lazy Gourmet.  The Vancouver Sun came on board as our very first major sponsor and that initial partnership helped us donate $4,500 in our first year.

2007 – Prêt-A-Pour-Tea had outgrown its initial venue, and moved to The Fish House in Stanley Park in order to accommodate our sell-out crowd of 150. Vancouver’s celebrated chef, Karen Barnaby, wowed the crowd with her High Tea menu, Summerhill Winery presented the Pink Champagne and guests enjoyed the fashions from Chloe Angus, JC Studio, and Blushing Designs.  Boasting a fabulous Silent Auction, we were able to more than double our initial year’s donation and handed a check to the C.B.C.F. for $10,000!

2008 - The 3rd Annual Prêt-A-Pour-Tea Event had picked up a loyal following with many guests returning, introducing new friends and associates.  We needed a bigger venue, yet again, so moved to Season’s in the Park with its stunning views of the city.  Executive Chef, Buddy Wolfe, delighted us with his unique version of Afternoon Tea.  Allwest Insurance became one of our major sponsors as did our recurring media sponsors, The Vancouver Sun, BCTV, QM/FM & Vancouver Lifestyle Magazine.  Retail fashion merchants had heard about the event and wished to participate in the show which highlighted JC Studio, Chloe Angus and Wear Else.  With another sell-out crowd of 200 women, we doubled our previous year’s profits, donating $20,000 to the B.C./Yukon Region of the C.B.C.F.!

2008

2009 – The downturn in the economy had us questioning whether to move forward this year.   The CBCF & The Vancouver Sun, along with Allwest Insurance convinced us to host the event in spite of uncertain times because our event had become synonomous with a quality afternoon, uniting women in an important & emotional cause. We pressed on, hosting the event at Season’s in the Park and were blessed with another sunny day and support form a  great group of women .   Allwest Insurance Services returned as a major sponsor as did our media partners, The Vancouver Sun, CTV and QM/FM.  With the introduction of the Mad Hatter Themed Tea Party, the guests enjoyed the opportunity to don their finest millinery for a chic, new twist on Hats & High Tea!  With 175 amazing supporters Prêt-A-Pour-Tea donated $10,000 to the C.B.C.F. in 2009.

2010 – Our 2010 Goal is to more than double our best year’s donation to the C.B.C.F. with the introduction of our “Masik Mosaik” Be Part of the Bigger Picture Photo Fundraising Project.  We are targeting $50,000 as our Pret A Pour Tea donation this year and have changed venues to accommodate our anticipated increase in capacity.  Please join us in our efforts to assist the C.B.C.F. in their research & quest to eradicate breast cancer by the year 2020!
